Located in the critically recognized SoNo Design CoOperative in South Norwalk CT the fashion lab curriculum draws on the deep rich traditions perfected in the French Couture Houses, adapting these teaching methods for young designers who are just beginning their fashion journey. NEF+DA's Fashion Lab Summer Camp provides students a fresh, hip industry current fashion experience and brings fashion to life. By offering a hands-on industry experience, each fashion lab session offers students an opportunity to stimulate, grow and express their inner fashion-creative genius. 

Developed by fashion design professionals, the Fashion Lab Summer Camp is Connecticut's only day camp for youth ages 11-19 teaching fashion design. Each four hour session of NEF+DA's Fashion Lab four is project oriented, allowing students to complete their week of Fashion Lab summer camp with their own finished and wearable fashion design projects. Areas of focus include: 

Fabric and Textiles
Silhouettes (Rhythmic & Proportional) ColorFundamental Visual PresentationThe Fundamentals of Creative Design Collection Conception & CreationFashion StylingFashion TrendsSewing

For the most adventurous Fashion Lab Summer Camp students, 
NEF+DA's offers fashion training opportunities in a range of additional subjects from fashion history to fashion runways

There are six sessions of fashion camp offered this year, each session last for one week.

Full-Day: 9:00am-5:00pm 

Locations:

Fashion Lab Summer Camp sessions are available in South Norwalk and New Britain CT.  

 

Instructors:

Instructors are drawn from the best fashion design programs in the U.S., including Parsons School of Design, FIT and Pratt.

Prior computer experience is not required to enroll in  Computer & Fashion Summer Camp Sections
All participants must bring their own laptop.
A training version of the Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop software will be provided for use during the week of the summer camp session.
